Welcome to the 1st Burrington and Wrington Scout and Guide Group Website, this site is here to link you up with a specific section within Scouting or Guiding.
Whether you are hoping to help out within a section or you looking to place your child into the Beavers or Rainbows, the Cubs or Brownies, or the Guides or Scouts in Wrington you are in the right place.
So who are we and what do we do?
At Burrington and Wrington we have a thriving Scout and Guide Group starting at the age of 5 with Rainbows for girls and 6 for Beavers, through to 14 with Guides and Scouts.
The sections within the Guide Sections are Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, while the Scouts sections are the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. We are also very lucky to have an Explorer Scout Unit who meet at the Scout hall in Wrington too.
Rainbows - 5 to 7 year olds
Rainbows have fun! They play games, have parties and make things while developing life skills.
Brownies - 7 to 10 year olds
Brownies do it all! Their meetings are full of challenges, games and activities, usually ones that the Brownies have suggested themselves.
Guides - 10 to 14 years old
Being a Guide encourages girls to develop by undertaking challenges and pushing the boundaries of their experience.
Beaver Scouts 6 to 8 year olds
Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony.
Cub Scouts 8 to 10 ½ year olds
Cubs get a chance to try lots of different activities we try and develop skills that will come is use when they join Scouts, like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to interesting and fun places. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.
Scouts 10 ½ to 14 year olds
Scouts get the chance to try out lots of different activities, meet new people, making friends is what Scouts is all about. Scouts enjoy playing games, but not just any games! The leaders set great challenges and arrange some brilliant camping trips and visits.
